Sony Music Publishing has promoted Monica Jordan to Vice President of Creative A&R for its Latin division.
The executive, known for signing Fuerza Regida front man Jesús “JOP” Ortiz Paz, Myke Towers, Anitta and Edén Muñoz, will continue reporting to Sony Music Publishing’s President and CEO, Latin America & US Latin Jorge Mejia.
Jordan, who will continue operating from Miami, has spent 15 years at the company, rising from A&R Manager to her previous role as Director, Creative A&R.
She also works alongside SMP signee Street Mob Records, a collective that represents over 25 songwriters, artists, and producers working in regional Mexican and related genres. The roster includes Calle 24, Chino Pacas, Clave Especial and Miguel Armenta.
“This opportunity is made possible by the incredible songwriters I’ve had the privilege to work alongside who inspire me every day.”

Jordan’s promotion comes as Latin music continues to grow globally, particularly in the US, where revenues reached a record $1.423 billion on a retail basis in 2024, surpassing the $1 billion mark for the third consecutive year.
That was up 5.8% YoY, outpacing the wider US music market’s growth. The US recorded music industry as a whole was up 3.3% YoY in 2024, to $17.67 billion, according to data from the RIAA.
Meanwhile, the promotion at Sony Music Publishing Latin marks the latest across SMP’s global operations. Less than two weeks ago, SMP promoted Margherita Gnech to Managing Director of Italy.
In April, Sony Music Publishing UK promoted Sarah Gabrielli to Head of A&R. Two months prior, Henry Naldjian was promoted to Chief Technology Officer at SMP, while Katie Welle was elevated to President, Head of US A&R, effective February 1.
